Royal MCJROTC defeats Manatee AJROTC
Shooting their highest score of the season Royal MCJROTC defeated Manatee AJROTC 1054.1 to 937.2 in the 2023 National Sporter Air Rifle League. Their fifth win in a row. Royal MCJROTC was led by Jenna Johnson who shot a 273.7. The remaining contributing members were Jake Pistor, Jimi Foller, and Nathan Covington. They are from Pattison, TX, and are coached by LaShan Bland.
Royal MCJROTC competed in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in twenty-fifth place. Within the Marine Corps JROTC Conference they finish in eighth place. They finished the regular season with a 5 - 2 record.
Thanks to their performance this season Royal MCJROTC preliminarily qualifies for the Distinguished Division in the 2024 National Air Rifle League.
Snapping a thre game win streak Manatee AJROTC was led by Kylee Souders who shot a 243.6. The remaining contributing members were Garcia Izael, Janae Henderson, and Aubrey Highers . Manatee AJROTC is from Bradenton, FL, and is coached by Brian Krcelic.
Manatee AJROTC also competed in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in thirty-seventh place. They finished the regular season with a 3 - 4 record.

The league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, kneeling, prone, and standing. Scored in decimal, each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
