U. S. Grant MCJROTC Narrowly Defeats Georgetown NJROTC
U. S. Grant MCJROTC edged out Georgetown NJROTC 1065.3 to 1062.5 in the 2023 National Sporter Air Rifle League. U. S. Grant MCJROTC was led by Eduardo Uribe who shot a 284.3. The remaining contributing members were Alexa Flores, Rosa Cardenas, and Rubi Cardenas. They are from Oklahoma City, OK, and are coached by LtCol Shane Rossow.
U. S. Grant MCJROTC competed in the Elite Division where they finish the regular season in third place. Within the Marine Corps JROTC Conference they finish in first place with a 5 - 2 record.
Next up, U. S. Grant MCJROTC will compete in the postseason Elite Division MCJROTC Championship Game. They will square off against Hendrickson MCJROTC.
Thanks to their performance this season U. S. Grant MCJROTC preliminarily qualifies for the Distinguished Division in the 2024 National Air Rifle League.
Georgetown NJROTC was led by Adriana Sanchez-Aca who shot a 271.4. The remaining contributing members were Evelyn Sanchez-Delacruz, Jaiden Smith, and Andre King. Georgetown NJROTC is from Georgetown, SC, and is coached by CDR Kaiser.
Georgetown NJROTC also competed in the Elite Division where they finish the regular season in fourth place with a 2 - 5 record.
Next up for Georgetown NJROTC is the postseason Elite Division NJROTC Championship Game. They will face Stony Point NJROTC.

The league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, kneeling, prone, and standing. Scored in decimal, each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
