Pacific MCJROTC defeats South Panola AFJROTC
Pacific MCJROTC defeated South Panola AFJROTC 1129.3 to 1098.6 in the 2023 National Sporter Air Rifle League. Their second win in a row. Pacific MCJROTC was led by Malissa Dailey who shot a 290.0. The remaining contributing members were Annabelle Schneider, Ella Stock, and Kaylee Ziegler. They are from Pacific, MO, and are coached by Brian Cain.
Pacific MCJROTC competed in the Champions Division where they finish the regular season in seventh place. Within the Marine Corps Jrotc Conference they finish in second place. They finished the regular season with a 5 - 2 record.
Nest up, Pacific MCJROTC will compete as the seventh seed in the post season Championship Tournament. They will compete against second seeded Mariner AJROTC.
Thanks to their performance this season Pacific MCJROTC preliminarily qualifies for the Champions Division in the 2024 National Air Rifle League Season. To complete their qualification, they must still shoot a minimum qualifying score, set for next season at 1035 (integer score for a 3x10), in a sanctioned competition within the next 10 months.
South Panola AFJROTC was led by Aleria Lee who shot a 279.9. The remaining contributing members were Veronica Hernandez, Adrian Gonzalez, and Cameren Becerra. South Panola AFJROTC is from Batesville, MS, and is coached by Jordan Bailey.
South Panola AFJROTC also competed in the Champions Division where they finish the regular season in seventeenth place. They finished the regular season with a 3 - 4 record.

The league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, kneeling, prone, and standing. Scored in decimal, each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
