Shooting their highest score of the season John F. Kennedy AJROTC defeated A. C. Mosley MCJROTC 1034.1 to 982.8 in the 2023 National Sporter Air Rifle League. John F. Kennedy AJROTC was led by Armando Garcia-Pineda who shot a 273.3. The remaining contributing members were Alexander StantonRivera, Kimmora Brown, and Tan Tran. They are from Denver, CO, and are coached by COL (R) Jeffrey F. Wilson.
John F. Kennedy AJROTC competed in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in twenty-sixth place. Within the Army JROTC Conference they finish in ninth place. They finished the regular season with a 4 - 3 record.

A. C. Mosley MCJROTC also competed in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in nineteenth place with a 4 - 3 record.

The league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, kneeling, prone, and standing. Scored in decimal, each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
