New Albany NJROTC Defeats Robert Service High School
In an undisputed contest, scoring 2271.1 points, New Albany NJROTC gets the win over Robert Service High School. Their third win in a row. New Albany NJROTC was led by Kadence Brown who shot a 582.8. The remaining contributing members were Anna Haskel, Kaedon Smith, and Chance Phillipy. They are from New Albany, IN, and are coached by Michael Cluver.
New Albany NJROTC competed in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in fifth place. Within the Jrotc Conference they finish in second place. They finished the regular season with a 4 - 3 record.
New Albany NJROTC will next compete as the second seed in the 2023 National Air Rifle League Precision Distinguished Conference Tournament. They will compete against first seed Vilseck AJROTC.
Thanks to their performance this season New Albany NJROTC preliminarily qualifies for the Distinguished Division in the 2024 National Air Rifle League.

The league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Standing Air Rifle match. The match is nearly identical to the air rifle events in the Olympic Games. Each athlete shoots 60 shots in the standing position, the most difficult position in rifle competitions. Scored in decimal, each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 60 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
