LeCanto JROTC defeats El Camino Real NJROTC
Shooting their highest score of the season LeCanto JROTC defeated El Camino Real NJROTC 814.2 to 735.9 last week in the National Air Rifle League. LeCanto JROTC was led by Rebecca Cissell who shot a 225.1. The remaining contributing members were Joseph Zutaut, Kyle Vanloon, and Antonio Garrido. They are from LeCanto, FL, and are coached by Dean Kelly.
LeCanto JROTC is competing in the Elite Division where they finish the regular season in twenty-seventh place. They finished the regular season with a 1 - 4 record.
The cut scores are still unofficially, however LeCanto JROTC likely will qualify for the Elite Division in the 2023 National Air Rifle League Season.
El Camino Real NJROTC was led by Samia Sayed who shot a 222.5. The remaining contributing members were Iram Ifthikar, Aaron Butler, and Yigermu Hill. El Camino Real NJROTC is from Woodland Hills, CA, and is coached by Michael Consoletti.
El Camino Real NJROTC is also competing in the Elite Division where they finish the regular season in thirtieth place. They finished the regular season with a 3 - 4 record.

Post-season teams and squadding will be posted to the league website and emailed to coaches shortly.
Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
The Distinguished Division are the second tiered teams, followed by the Elite Division.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
