Juneau District Rifle Team defeats Eastern AJROTC
Juneau District Rifle Team defeated Eastern AJROTC 1003.3 to 858.4 last week in the National Air Rifle League. Juneau District Rifle Team was led by Beck Schneider who shot a 262.9. The remaining contributing members were Madeline Germain , Nathan Creswell, and Conner Greene. They are from Juneau, AK, and are coached by Kasey McNamee.
Juneau District Rifle Team is competing in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in thirtieth place. Within the Junior Rifle Club Conference they finish in fourth place. They finished the regular season with a 4 - 2 record.
The cut scores for next season are still unofficial, however thanks to their performance this season Juneau District Rifle Team likely qualifies for the Distinguished Division in the 2023 National Air Rifle League Season.
Eastern AJROTC was led by Jonathan Schweikert who shot a 237.8. The remaining contributing members were Anhuard Espinal, Zinash Cox, and Kamden Garcia. Eastern AJROTC is from Louisville, KY, and is coached by John D. Sallee.
Overall Eastern AJROTC finishes the regular season seventy-sixth. They finished the regular season with a 5 - 2 record.

Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
The Distinguished Division are the second tiered teams, followed by the Elite Division.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
