X Shots Shooting Club defeats Warrenton Rifles
Shooting their highest score of the season X Shots Shooting Club defeated Warrenton Rifles 1092.9 to 1024.4 last week in the National Air Rifle League. Their second win in a row. X Shots Shooting Club was led by Robert Nordin who shot a 280.1. The remaining contributing members were Sophia Ching, Logan Chong, and Rowen Balagtas. They are from Aiea, HI, and are coached by Yuji Hata.
X Shots Shooting Club is competing in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in fourth place. Within the Junior Rifle Club Conference they finish in first place. They finished the regular season with a 5 - 2 record.
The cut scores for next season are still unofficial, however thanks to their performance this season X Shots Shooting Club preliminarily qualifies for the Champions Division in the 2023 National Air Rifle League Season. To complete their qualification, they must still shoot a 1035 or higher in a sanctioned competition within the next year.
Warrenton Rifles was led by Matthew Lehr who shot a 265.0. The remaining contributing members were Brandon Lehr, Payton Cox, and Owen Fields. Warrenton Rifles is from Warrenton, VA, and is coached by Claude Davenport.
Warrenton Rifles is also competing in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in twelfth place. Within the Junior Rifle Club Conference they finish in third place. They finished the regular season with a 4 - 3 record.

Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
The Distinguished Division are the second tiered teams, followed by the Elite Division.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
