Forsyth County 4-H Narrowly Defeats Carroll County 4-H
Forsyth County 4-H edged out Carroll County 4-H 1869 to 1858 last week in the National BB Gun League. Their second win in a row, Forsyth County 4-H is in second place in their Division with a 2 - 0 record. Forsyth County 4-H was led by VIVIAN MUNCE who shot a 381. The remaining contributing members were PAYTON WALTMAN, NICKY BRAZIER, SAM STALLBERG, and ABIGAIL HARRIS. Forsyth County 4-H is from Cumming, GA, and is coached by Freddy Flannigan.
Carroll County 4-H dropped to 1 - 1 on the season. They are currently in fifth place in their Division. Carroll County 4-H was led by Collin Grubbs who shot a 378. The remaining contributing members were Will Hanson, Sarah Jennings, Tanner Warren, and Lydia Lee. Carroll County 4-H is from Bowden, GA, and is coached by Scott Carroll.
Next up Forsyth County 4-H will compete against Humboldt Sharpshooters from Hartford, SD. Humboldt Sharpshooters currently has a 1 - 1 record. Carroll County 4-H will compete against Pierre Junior Shooters from Pierre, SD. Pierre Junior Shooters currently leads the division with a 2 - 0 record.
These two teams are competing in the Champions Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The Champions Division is comprised of the top teams in the league. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
