Mountain Home NJROTC Narrowly Defeats Chaparral NJROTC
Mountain Home NJROTC edged out Chaparral NJROTC 889.3 to 878.4 last week in the National Air Rifle League. Mountain Home NJROTC was led by Chirstian Depoister who shot a 248.7. The remaining contributing members were Prins Dylan , Johnathon Mason, and Faithann Hall . They are from Mountain Home, AR, and are coached by Jason Williams.
Mountain Home NJROTC is competing in the Elite Division where they finish the regular season in eleventh place. Within the Navy Jrotc Conference they finish in second place. They finished the regular season with a 4 - 3 record.
The cut scores for next season are still unofficial, however thanks to their performance this season Mountain Home NJROTC likely qualifies for the Distinguished Division in the 2023 National Air Rifle League Season.
Chaparral NJROTC was led by Kalia Matthew who shot a 241.4. The remaining contributing members were Christian Flores, Aurelio Romero, and Natalie Ramirez. Chaparral NJROTC is from Las Vegas, NV, and is coached by John Becker.
Chaparral NJROTC is also competing in the Elite Division where they finish the regular season in sixteenth place. Within the Navy Jrotc Conference they finish in fourth place. They finished the regular season with a 2 - 5 record.

Post-season teams and squadding will be posted to the league website and emailed to coaches shortly.
Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
The Distinguished Division are the second tiered teams, followed by the Elite Division.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
