Seneca Valley AJROTC defeats Clarkrange AJROTC
Shooting their highest score of the season Seneca Valley AJROTC defeated Clarkrange AJROTC 1077.3 to 1055.3 last week in the National Air Rifle League. Seneca Valley AJROTC was led by Logan Randall who shot a 283.7. The remaining contributing members were Wesley Marks, James Shibata, and Hayden Pearce. They are from Harmony, PA, and are coached by 1SG Angelo Lettiere.
Seneca Valley AJROTC is competing in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in tenth place. Within the Army Jrotc Conference they finish in third place. They finished the regular season with a 5 - 2 record.
The cut scores for next season are still unofficial, however thanks to their performance this season Seneca Valley AJROTC preliminarily qualifies for the Champions Division in the 2023 National Air Rifle League Season. To complete their qualification, they must still shoot a 1035 or higher in a sanctioned competition within the next year.
Clarkrange AJROTC was led by Sydney Beringer who shot a 280.6. The remaining contributing members were Savannah Romero, Azariah Laudenslager, and Clayton Laudenslager. Clarkrange AJROTC is from Clarkrange, TN, and is coached by Steve Dunham.
Clarkrange AJROTC is also competing in the Distinguished Division where they finish the regular season in ninth place. Within the Army Jrotc Conference they finish in second place. They finished the regular season with a 4 - 3 record.

Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
The Distinguished Division are the second tiered teams, followed by the Elite Division.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Three-Position Air Rifle match. The match is modeled after Olympic Rifle competitions but adapted to high school age athletes. Each athlete will shoot 10 shots in three different shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 30 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
